The first regular-season meeting between the Penguins and Flyers, who have played in the past two postseasons, was upstaged by Game 2 of a first-round baseball playoff series between the National League's Philadelphia Phillies and Colorado Rockies, who are managed by former Pirates skipper Jim Tracy. That game was played before Penguins-Flyers.
